Russia’s Transneft mulls raising Kozmino port’s oil capacity in ‘16
MOSCOW, Oct 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s oil pipeline monopoly Transneft may expand oil transportation capacity of the Far Eastern port of Kozmino to 31.5 million tonnes in 2016 from 30 million tonnes now, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Wednesday.
“Our companies in Eastern Siberia are increasing their production plans, and correspondingly the 30 (million tonne capacity of the Kozmino port) is not enough already today…Now Transneft is studying the possibility to expand it at least to 31.5 million tonnes very soon, from the next year,” he said.
The ministry has made no decisions on the matter, but it is considering increasing the Kozmino port’s capacity even further, he added.
